How fast are China’s EV disruptors scaling compared to the pioneer?

This chart compares cumulative deliveries of Nio, XPeng, Li Auto, Leapmotor, Zeekr and Xiaomi since each brand’s first vehicle delivery - with Tesla as reference.
While Nio and XPeng, similar to Tesla, took about 7 years to reach 1 million deliveries, Li Auto and Leapmotor are scaling faster. Xiaomi is on track to be the fastest ever, with more than 500K deliveries in less than 2 years.
Tesla serves as reference here, but it’s worth noting that they did the pioneering work under fundamentally different conditions like sparse charging infrastructure, higher battery costs and low consumer awareness.
Different era, different market conditions. But the pace of the new players is striking.
