Has Tesla peaked?

Looking at vehicle deliveries, the data suggest so. The timing, however, depends on perspective.

Tesla's share of global BEV sales peaked in 2020 at around 25 %. By 2025, it dropped to roughly 12 % as the overall BEV market is growing rapidly.

Tesla's absolute volume peaked later, with around 1.8 million deliveries in 2023. Since then, Tesla has faced annual declines, especially in 2025 with minus 9 % overall deliveries compared to 2024.

The regional picture confirms the trend. Deliveries are down in all major markets: US, China, and Europe. Europe saw the sharpest drop, down 28 % in 2025.

The BEV market continues to grow. Tesla's share of it does not.
